Inside the Regents:
Who are the UC Regents?
The Board of Regents has 26 members -- 18 who are appointed to 12-year terms by the governor; seven who serve on the board because of the offices they hold; and one student regent who is selected by the rest of the board for a one-year term. The appointed board currently includes nine white males; two white females; two Asian-American males; two African-American males; one Cuban-American male; and two Mexican-American women.
